I run the dunes up here in MI at 8lbs. I'm running 31x12 m/ts. Lots of fun.

Oh and do not be afraid to use the skinny peddle! i know that heading up Test Hill at Silver Lake you have to to get to 2nd gear and ride it hard all the way up or you just won't make it.

cliffhanger, yes I have some tips. I used to run the dunes frequently, though not in an XJ. First, keep it light. Dump out all the unnecessary stuff and then dump some more. Take the doors off. If all you have is that donut spare, dump that too. Get rid of the high lift etc. Yup, air down is great. But if you want to have some more fun, find your friendly neighborhood local circle track racer and ask him for his used slicks. The bigger the better. They can even have a little cord showing. Then find some cheap steel wheels as wide as possible, and mount em up. We used to split steel rims, have a sheet metal shop make a band and then weld them together. Don't be afraid of a little speed if you know what is on the other side. Make sure you have good shocks too.

Have fun
