xj which one?
Hello all i am new to the forum, I am going to purchase a jeep xj soon hopefully with my tax return. Which year was a good year for xj's waht should i look for and what year should i stay away from. I use to have a wrangler yj but i sold it because i needed the money.Now my ducks are in a row and i want a xj.

84-86-2.8 v6 -run for the hills...
87-88- renix with c101 connector Renix 4.0...there ok I hate that Connector lol
89-90 best of the Renix years... great Jeep easy to work on...
91-95 obd1 with the 4.0 ho seem to have the most parts avable...
96 1st year of obd2 some parts are 96 only... parts can be a little more sometimes...
97-99 obd2..new body style 4.0 there ok...
00-01 stay away head cracking problems...

97 had the best parts combined of every year. can go doorless easy, updated interior and facelift, 29 sspline 8.25, hp d30, all aw4 trannies can work, full length roof rails, has sound bar, ect. But any 90-99 you will be good to go
00-01 the heads are not that huge a issue as they lead you to believe. But I would simply avoid due to low pinion Dana 30. Tho not a deal breaker
