Default XJ Observation - Canada vs USA

Hi all

I just spent 4 days in New York and Pennsylvania. I am from Ontario and noticed a huge number of XJ's while in the USA. There were significantly more and much more noticeable than the number in Canada. Has anyone else noticed this sort of trend. There are XJ's around here in Ontario of course, but nowhere near as many are still around as in the northern USA. I'd be interested to hear any thoughts you have as to why this may be the case?

Because its an American made car and this is America? Or maybe y'all's cold snowy weather ate all the XJ's?

i thought this was comparing american built vs. canadian built XJs. XJs are one of the most popular vehicles on the road around me.

Because most Canadian cars I see are Hyundai Tucsons. Generally speaking, Canadians have newer cars.

Near San Francisco it's all ZJ and WJ. I looked for a year for a *nice* XJ...finally gave up and scored an upcountry ZJ

I'm sure that it is mainly a population issue. I was still surprised at how many nice XJ's are on the road now 12 years after the last year of production.

Everyone and their mother has an XJ here. Can't always depend on the plow trucks when there's a heavy snow fall.

I live just South of Buffalo NY, on my street alone there are 8 XJ's, a ton of Wranglers and quite a few Liberties & ZJ's. roughtly every 3rd house has some sort of Jeep in the driveway or garage. Around here the XJ is so popular because they are less expensive than most 4x4's and great second / winter vehicles, and oh ya, get good gas milage (for a 4x4)......

out here there are probably more Lexus "SUVs" than Jeep...2nd is probably Acura.

A few years ago 2nd place would be ford exploder, but most of the 10yr + old ones have been sent to the junk yards by now.

Then I think...CRV, Maybe highlanders...then Cherokees.

But the only XJs you see are already handed down to kids to beat them to death, or are just parking doing nothing in some 80 year old guy's driveway who has a death grip on it "in case" they need it one day. Or the once a week shopping trip.

Like the AMX with a 390 in it owned by some old lady neighbor of my friend. Who cares if it sucked overall (like a cherokee...) it was a small *** car with a 390 in it.
She wouldn't sell it, "in case" she needed it one day

I've been in British Columbia for the past year, and there are way less XJs here in Canada. Back in Michigan I see them all the time. Seems like all Jeep models are fewer up here in B.C.

As the years go by they are becoming more and more rare around here. When I was looking for an XJ 4 years ago I had no choice but to settle for an automatic because it was the only one I could find.

But it sure gets a lot of attention
