happened a few weeks ago, Sitting at a red light when a young girl was late for class, said she looked down at her phone the looked up as she hit me, said she wasn't wearing her seatbelt either. I bought it like 6 months ago for $500 & put maybe another $1k into it, her insurance gave me $4,304 for my jeep, & I got to keep it. I just finished up my medical claims, happy its pretty much over.
2hours before it was hit, messing around with my friends kids at baseball
that's great you got a new jeep and all, but in all honesty, that hitch, or should i say leaving the hitch in the receiver is what caused all the damage, rendering your jeep a total loss.
but none the less, enjoy your new jeep and having a parts jeep is always a good thing.
you're lucky, where are you from? where i live you're supposed to take out the hitch bar from the receiver when not towing. same with plow mounts. my buddy's insurance refused to pay for anything when he got rear ended with his hitch in his truck without a trailer. cruddy thing was, he was on his way to pick up his trailer

Sounds like you live outside the U.S., right? If that were a proposal here, even the strictest states wouldn't let that become a law...
It's the same in IL you can't have them in. I mean you can have them in because the likely hood of an officer stopping you for it is low. But in the case of an accident and the hitch was a spot that was hit you will be lucky to get as decent insurance offer to replace the vehicle
