If it runs and not in too rough shape id say $1500 tops but your looking more like $800 range. I dont know where you live but down south thats what an 88 xj stocker would go for. I bought mine a stocker for $1500 was an 88 with 180k miles and not the prettiest jeep.

Thats why I was considering selling it built. I figure I can get 3k out of it. It runs great, r134a conversion, dana 44, no dents, super clean interior.

Well...just took a look at the 98. The body is straight has some scratches...but it also had some goodies. Small lift around 2 or 3 inches but it was packs and coils no spacers. New 30 inch bfg at...gas tank and t case skid. Brakes have a leak...interior is straight, hatch is dented, shifted into 4 hi smooth. It lurched forward going to lo. Didn't over heat. 1500 bucks...get it???

It seemed pretty straight. Nice looking, and some bonuses. What else should I look at if I go check it out again? Didn't appear to have any oil spots, looked like the the engine compartment hadn't been cleaned in a while though
