My son has a 2000 cherokee sport. I'm going to build front and rear bumpers with receiver hitch mounts for a winch that can be moved between the two. I figure a 5,000 pound winch would suffice to pull that thing out of any hole he gets it stuck in.
Any tips or picks or money saving suggestions?
thanks

I would suggest a more powerful winch. You typically want it to be rated for twice the weight of the vehicle.
If you can afford a Warn, get one. Otherwise there are a few others that are pretty good. Smittybuilt, Milemarker, etc.

I wouldnt consider anything less than 8000lbs.
Buy a Warn M8000. Amazon runs deals on them from time to time with free shipping..
The VR8000 isnt a bad winch either.
Smittbilts have reasonable prices for their 8000's..

Smittybilts have GREAT prices on their 8000 pounder. 300 bucks is cheap!

You also want the winch to have a minimum of 80 feet of cable, sometimes your anchor point isn't close enough for the small ATV winch's 35-50 feet of cable to reach, which makes it useless.
