I think I rubbed off on her. She saw a Jeep today that she really liked so she described it & I googled a couple different 1s. Turns out she wants a 03-05Liberty Renegade (silver) I think there pretty sharp lookin. So has anyone heard any good or bad things? Its gonna be a 3.7L V6 If I read right like 210 hp 4x4. I've seen that RC makes a 3" lift for KJ & its cheap as hell. Just seekin info on a Jeep share opinions good or bad.

Depends on what you want it for. If it's for a DD they make a great little Jeep and ride pretty nice. We had a CRD, and I really liked it. The 3.7 liter in that package (The KJ weighs around 4,000 pounds) is a gas hog. Expect ~13 MPG in city type commutes. The IFS limits what you can do off road. If you just want a lift kit for show and a little more off road ability, I guess that kit would be fine. I like the interiors, and for the wife I'd try to find one with SelecTrac personally. You can find SelecTrac in a lot of the Limiteds, but I'm not sure about the Renegades. Overall a pretty nice DD and would make her a good vehicle.
Do a Google search on "LostKJ" and you'll find a really good forum on them with guys that reall know alot about them.

To the OP. A lot of people on this forum will say this, but for a DD for your wife and an occasional trail ride the IFS would probably be a better choice. The ride quality is much better for daily driving, and if your wife is like most women she'll enjoy the KJ much better than an XJ.

Go for it! Make sure you let her pick any upgrades or accessorize it the way "She wants". This would be very beneficial when you are looking into the next thing on your XJ's want list...

Do you live where it is cold? MD, yeah. I've been told by several people the Patriot is the best newer Jeep...for tha ladies. Performs awesome in the snow and ice and it's nice and comfy inside too. Might check it out and have her check them out before you commit to the Liberty.

Thanks guys I'll definently check out Patriot too. But it will be her DD & something to follow me out on the beach & trails. I'm excited though cause she's always liked cars & now that I've takin her places in my XJ that's cars can't go she's gettin the fever. She pick her own upgrades like cosmetics but I'll help & this forum will help us choose mechanical upgrades. Thanks guys I've been learnin a lot about 4x4s since I joined this forum a lot of knowledge & experience is in here.
