All 4 of my doors come off and it's great. I can drive my friends and cargo no issue. I'm considering an internal cage and doing some sort of mod to have a soft top. I'd rather not buy a Wrangler, since I enjoy the space and size I have with my XJ. Not to mention I'd rather have something I built and made, than something everyone else bought.

I mean i know the reason is most likely for a better view of trail obstacles or maybe you simply think it looks cool?

what happens when you have no doors or top and you roll over on the trail? that cant be a good thing with nothing to keep your arms and legs (and head!) inside the vehicle. Sure they make harnesses to keep you in the seat but most people are hanging halfway out the door looking under their jeep while crawling so i doubt they are even using them

i love the looks of the full body XJ, anyone else feel the same?
Wranglers are expensive. If you are wheeling trails that you can roll over that vehicle should have a cage no matter if the doors are on or off. Who says they are ruining a perfectly good xj. It's all personal preference with vehicles and looks. A different person may think that xj looks ugly with the fenders on they should take them off. For an example

I have a soft too, doors come off and half a Comanche truck bed with hatch on my XJ an I love the way it looks and the many heads it turns. But I will agree wit the fact that it feels a bit in safe when wheeling but then again I don't plan to roll it. I am going to one day put a cage on it but untill that day comes I won't do some of the crawls others will. And I do love the way a full XJ looks but that's my daily driver.

amazing that there are so many people who seem to think there are thousands of people out there worried about whether or not some dude who lives with his mom has doors on his cherokee or not

I feel like if it's safe, it's good. take the doors off? throw on some tube doors for side impact if you flop it or get t-boned. choping the back to the doors? reinforce it. chopping the whole roof? complete exo cage it... i don't like chop tops just cuzz of what they look like, but with that said, when it is done right, it's perfectly fine. DaveVmax has a good example of one done right

Where do y'all think the four door rubi's inspiration came from? CHOPPED XJ's! I don't wanna chop my xj ! But the door less mod is a blast and if I wanti can't put them back on with everything working. It's all a matter of what you are doing with your xj. Mine is a rock crawler and a brush beater that's it ! 100% street legal and it's fun!

customized xj > cookie cutter stock wrongler

a perfectly good xj with the doors removed is now a perfectly better xj. common 2+2=jeep situation

Quick removable doors are awesome in the summer and on the trail. But I kinda agree on chops. XJs are great because they are capable but still practical. You can comfortably have 4 people in one in the dead of winter with the heat on and nobody will get cold (In winter my heater is too hot, its 10 degrees out and I need windows down.)
And the chop just kills the practicality aspect.
