Because there are about 10 million XJ's on the road and 99% of them are stock. Further, most are driven by 45 year old stay at home moms saving up for a new minivan.

I don't know. No one ever waves at me around here. Most of the XJ's are older ladies. I saw a bunch of XJ's running today but I was in my wife's Grand and no one waves at those... their like a dime a dozen here.

I inherited mine from my mother. November of 2008. (she was in her 80's) She would never sell it, to me even though it was hardly driven by her. (Had about fourteen years) Which explains why it's a 1991 with 64k. When I got it. Now it's at 67k.

I find that Wrangler owners don't wave back to me. Is it because XJs "don't get no respect"?

Hey, everybody. It's a Jeep thing. Wave.

(Too many clichés?)

Yea its odd... when I owned my 4x4 tacoma years ago all toyota truck owners would wave, Tundras, T-100's, 4-runners, other tacomas. My wife thought it was weird and asked why people always waved at me. She didnt put two and two together. But in my XJ its nothing... no wranglers or other XJ's.

I get waves from all the lifted jeeps around here! Occasionally I get some dousche that will look at me and wont wave back. He sees the bird in his rear view mirror.

Lifted XJs will wave at me, but that's all. I've never had a Wrangler wave back.

Here in SLC there are A TON of lifted XJs driven by kids in their 20s & none of them wave! It doesn't help that my DD is the WJ, but even if I drove the XJ I don't think I'd get the wave!
Granted most of them are little rich kids that don't take them off roading at all!
