Blame the sorry state of 'education' these days. They're so tied up with being politically correct and trying to not offend anyone - or, worst, "not damaging their self-esteem" - that the kids these days are spoon-fed the answers and don't have to think for themselves. Hell, when was the last time a kid had to look something up?

Kudos to the teachers who dock kids for using Wikipedia as a source for a research project - if you have managed, somehow, to graduate from primary education without learning how to use a library, you should not have been granted a diploma.

From there, it's easy enough to realise that nearly every online forum of a technical or semi-technical nature has a "search" button, and who doesn't know that you can search a specific site with most online search engines? (Doesn't matter which one you use - it's all just a front-end for a grep statement anyhow.)

Do not expect me to tell you the answer outright - I'll make you figure it out on your own. Do not expect my lessons to be easy if you ask me to tutor you - I've been told I'm harder than most schools. The upside? If you can make it through my lessons, school should be a snap!

Boo. Kids should be encouraged to use both the new technologies available to them, and the libraries. Reading information on the internet or reading it in a book, whats the difference? What's most important is citing the sources. There are a lot of information on the internet that you could never find in a library.

Not being a smartass. Look at all those threads that deal with wheels and tires. What more do you want?
