I appreciate the compliment, but I didn't do this one myself. I've painted before with better results than this quickie job, but with 3 small children and a wife I just don't have the time at this point in my life to do it myself. This was done by a local chain called SprayGlo, which is much like Maaco. There are tape lines and it's not show car quality, but for 4 days work and $400 with a 3 year warranty I'm happy as a clam. Interestingly, the guy told me that white paint is actually thicker and heavier than any other color, and so it goes on thicker and looks nicer for the cheap price than any other color. He said a gallon of water weighed about 8lbs, a gallon of dark paint was around 9-10lbs, but a gallon of white was almost 13lbs. I don't know about his figures for sure, but I had a black car painted at the same place and my white XJ did appear to have noticeably thicker paint, so there must be some merit to what he said. On both vehicles there were only a few minor dings and nicks so I didn't have them do any body work on either, and the white XJ turned out much much better than the black Honda IMO.

All that to say, white is the most forgiving color of paint, a respray isn't too expensive, and as long as you aren't expecting to win any ribbons for paint at a car show it really adds a whole new life to your vehicle as evidenced by my pics.

Thanks anyway 4 Door I have a little more time on my hands as just a dual enrolled Highschool/College student and would like to do a little better job than just a spray can after I repair some of the rusted areas
