Hey guys. i was thinking of running dual 102" whip antenna s. one for my cb, and the other for my scanner. so i was wondering if any of you had pictures of whip antennas on your cherokees and what you thought of them

awesome mileage out of it, sounds cool in the 2 parking garages I fit in as it bends over. and it is a true 1/4 wave

it is the radio shack 102" whip it is like $20-$25 I have a few of them I have gone thru 3 (about 1 a year) and are getting harder and harder to find.

they need to be tuned right and really grounded

one time I nearly took the whole rack off.



there will be objects that catch it right at the base of the whip and break it at the mount

you have to figure mine is also sitting at the near highest point on the jeep tho

Do you have a spring?

never seen a need for one plus they make tuning a real *****. not worth it.


plus it whips around enough as it, now you add a spring to it expect it to hit your jeep all over, a hard stop it will hit your hood a hard start it will hit the hatch

the entire rack is grounded. it is all welded together then the mounts ground it as well as i ran a strap ground from the body to the rack just for piece of mind, the lights are grounded to the rack as well.

the antenna sees the rack as a "roof" still
