Im running the Cobra 29 radio, got the army edition off of eBay for 75 with free shipping. awesome radio.. but there is more to it than the radio. its all in your antenna and tuning and proper connections.. and you can also go and get your radio tuned and peaked to put out more power.

I've had about all of them. From the simple little Cobra 19Plus radios to the biggest, most expensive Galaxies and MAgnum Radios. Heck I've still got a Galaxy 48T in my closet. I've gotten rid of all of them in favor of a Cobra 29 or a Uniden 78.
Personally, I like the Uniden PC78Elite. that's what I run in my semi. It's ridden in there problem free for about 450,000 miles now. It's the FIRST one I've ever had in there that's not needed any repairs done after riding around that long on the crappy rough roads I drive nightly. Freightliners have been given the nick name FreightShakers for a reason. I also really like the older Cobra 29's. The ones before the SoundTracker and NightWatch radios.
Regardless of what radio you get, a good quality antenna that's properly tuned is most important. For a personal vehicle, and in particular a Jeep, I think that Wilson Flex is a really hard antenna to beat. I think any antenna that has an easily tunable tip would work, but that Wilson flex would be my choice.
Also, get a good noise canceling mic. An Astatic or a Road King. A good mic and a good antenna that's tuned correctly and you'll sound better, hear better, and get out farther than any body else.
If I had to choose, I'd pick a crappy radio WITH a good antenna and a good mic over a top quality radio and a cheap, crappy antenna and the stock mic. NO company includes a mic with their CB's that's worth having!
