an MJ Comanche with a 4.0, 4x4, and a short bed....does that count? its technically not an XJ lol.
if not, any Jeeps would be a CJ5 or CJ7, YJ, or TJ. A J10 or J20 would be cool too.
Ford- F150 Raptor, F250 4x4 8ft bed, or an F350 Powerstroke dually with 4x4 and a full cab, or an Early Bronco.
you'll never catch me in a Yota, suzuki, nissan etc. i like my american 4x4's.

MJ, YJ, TJ, CJ, J10, H1, Hilux (if we could get them stateside), Nissan Patrol (if we could get them stateside), R34 skyline (if they weren't so hard or expensive to come by legally and converted to US spec.) RX7 (early to mid 90's), 240, wrx sti, evo lancer, 67 z28, 1970 challenger R/T. Or, for fuel economy, a tiger truck.

Either way, she's still the best choice. I like cars made after '96, so this kind of depends on the year. Out of the non-supermodels:
--Nissan Pathfinder/Isuzu Rodeo/Honda Passport: I'd take an older one. I think they're cool looking, but you still pay the import premium, and the after market kind of sucks for these. Good cars, though. The later ones are soccer mom cars, though. dang unibody junk (heh heh heh)
-Chevrolet S10 Blazer - I'd take an older one or a newer one, I just wouldn't pay a lot because these are super unreliable. They're pretty cool, though, and you can swap in a SBC fairly easily.
-Toyota 4Runner - Taking into my anti-toyota bias, I wouldn't drive a late 80s early 90's one, unless I was planning on swapping in the 3.4 from the later 4runners. Gutless, poor MPG pieces of crap. I'd take the gen after that, though - 96 to 02, i think. My dad drives one and it's nice. Comes stock with 32's and locking center diff (i think). I like it. You pay an import premium, plus the toyota premium, though.
-Ford Explorer - older ones? heck no. 04-newer? maybe. i'd drive a lot of other cars first.
-Mitsubishi Montero - I like montero sports. These were on my short list. cons - import premium, not much after market
-Heidi Klum - no way. never. my standards are much too high for her. (heh)
Others that I would drive?
I'd drive an H3 alpha. I think these are so rad. I know there's a pretty strong anti-hummer bias in the jeep world, but I don't care.
I like Unlimited JKs too, especially with the pentastar engine and 6 speed, my current second favorite, after the H3 alpha.
The newer liberties are cool, too. I wonder if you could swap in a 4.7 V8 and 6 speed.............
I like the 2000-2005 (i think) GMC denalis. Those are way nice.
05 up tacomas with 4.0 and 6 speed and TRD supercharger? yes please.
Newer Honda CRV - i wonder if you could put a 6 speed in, and lift it... hmmmmmmm
If you're talking about NEW cars, i'd take any dodge with a cummins and 6 speed, a ford raptor, or a nissan titan. I used to be way into chevies, but they're hard to get interested in now. They're probably the best full-size on the market on paper, but just kind of boring.
I drove a samurai in High school, and I thought it was a great little car. I'd drive one today and do a VW diesel swap. They're cool little cars. My dad bought mine for like $900, and sold it for $1200. Today a stock one in good shape goes for like $3000-4000!!!
are we talking about cars, too?!?
2005 BMW 330i ZHP is my #1
Dodge caliber (i know, it's lame, but i like it) - swap in a european diesel and 6 speed? yes please.
Honda Fit - don't hate. i like them.
80's monte carlo - LSX swap

You could also consider a Scarlett Johansen. I hear those are pretty hot.
edit - sorry about the novel. i got excited.

for me, simple, the Toyota, as I have driven Toyota trucks for more than 20 years, but I can also say I am tired of them, but still have 2 for my daily drivers, a 1985 1 ton 4cyl, 5 speed long bed, & a 1986 1/2 ton long bed. plus a couple parts trucks a 84, as well as a 93 that I had purchased new, but blew engine a few years ago.
anyway because I am so tired of them, is why I looked into Jeeps, plus I know so many people & friends with them, I just couldnt bare to think of owning another Toyota truck, even if it was 4wd, & 20 + years driving basically the same vehicles is too much.
