Default What speakers are you rockin? (to)

So I'm pretty set on doin the whole sound system to my rig. Hopin to snag a good deal on boxing day. But I'm a little undecided on the speakers. As of now I'm thinking of going with the 5.25 kickers. But as I have little experience or knowledge with the brand names I'm open to any suggestions or input.
So what do you guys like or want?

Honestly, I'd go with 6.5's. They fit better, but you have to massage them in there right. Ive had no problems with kicker, but I would rather go with rockford fosgate, just because I've always liked their stuff.. But it is significantly more expensive.

6.5 eh? I have a 99 and I'm pretty sure the sound bar isn't coming out without really messing up the headliner. Are you able to get them in there without pulling out the soundbar?

Yeah alright cool. I did pop the grille off. So it's as easy as that? Pop the old ones out and "massage" the 6.5's in? Because that sounds eazy peazy. I'd just hate to pick some up and have them not fit. And like I said, I have little knowledge about doin this, so all advice is really appreciated.

So I ended up getting the JVC like r820. Their top o' the line that comes with Bluetooth and a mic for $150. Took a lot of driving around the city for it.. So I plan on installing that this weekend.

... As for speakers...
I went with the kicker ks 5.25.. 3 hour install (first time ever doing auto speakers). They didn't fit in the doors so I had to drill some new holes..

And I have never been more disappointed in my life.. The bass in them is horrible. The sound is just all muddled and not clear or crisp at all, which I don't think is too much to expect from aftermarket speakers. Like my stock ones are seriously way better.
So I think I'm going to wire up the head unit to see if that makes any difference. And if not, return these pos, and throw he stock ones back in.

... I hate soldering and f'ing around with wires.. Ugh.

Need more suggestions on speakers that have nice crystal crisp clarity. And good sound from the whole spectrum.

Like the only thing I can think of that COULD if anything be making them sound so horrible is the wiring.

I ended up just using the little "butt splice crimps" that you just feed one wire in one side, one in the other and crimp., that came with the speakers, instead of just soldering and using heat shrink. May have made a bad connection? I don't know.

... I still think I'm going to put the stock ones back in though.

I have a low end kenwood headunit powing 5.25 kenwood compenents in the door with 6.5 infinities in the rear. Plus a 10" kicker cvr in a custom encloser in the rear where the dumb cubby is. All looks very clean, sounds great, and gets a bunch of compliments from all kinds of people.

I have never had any luck with aftermarket speakers having crisp bass. Every speaker I have ever owned has vibrated the crap out of the door and sounds like crap, so my resolution was buy some nice speakers for the rear(Polk/Momo MMC650) and run a decent set of speakers in the front(Infinity 6032si) with factory tweeters. Then I installed a 12" sub and ran all the bass to the sub and turn the high pass filter setting on the head unit all the way up. That way the speakers hit the high's and mids and the sub takes care of all the lows.
