Default what seats fit what year?

I have a 1995 xj and my driver's seat is about shot. I was wondering if all xj seats fit all years or is there a range on each of them? By the way this is my 1st offical post.

84 through 94 are direct swap...

95 to 01 are direct swap. 95+ can also accept ZJ seats to the XJ bases.

84-96 are direct swamp , 97-01 , you can't use seats from a 96 in a 97 unless you swap the seat tracks out , the floors are different in Pre 97

Try again.... 84-94 XJ's are a direct swap. In 95 the floor was redesigned, along with the seat mounts. 95-01 XJ's will accept 95-01 seats, plus 93-04 Grand Cherokee seats. For the GC's, you have to swap the XJ rails and mounts onto the ZJ/WJ seats. It's really easy.

Yea it will work and not hard at all just a few nuts and bolts , originally when I bought my truck (it's a 97) it had seats from a 90 bolted up to my seat tracks , not sure why the guy did it but they were super clean lol so it would deff work

The 90 seatframes (what i assume you mean by "hardware") will not bolt into a 95. In 95 they added a brace under the front mounts which changed the bolts from going through the floor to going horizontally through the brace. They also changed the bolt pattern on seat to frame...

You could make an adapter, but it's not a bolt in.

Here is a pre 95 seatframe modified to accept a 95+ seat frame bolting pattern.

Again, 95-01 seats are a direct swap. I think your mistaken when you claim the seats that were bolted to your 97 frames were originally pre95.

There were 95-96 seats that looked identical to the 84-94's.. but the bolt pattern to the frames differed.

Maybe I am wrong , I'll take your word and if that's totally true it's actually good to know that now

Trust him. Sounds like you've got a set of 95/96 seats in yours. The Country package had seats that look very similar to some of the early 90's seats.

I have an issue, my drivers seat was replaced by the Po and it sits too high in the front and leans too far in the back. Is this the wrong seat or is it broken?
