I had a Ranger with a long wheel base that I got high centered a lot. I wanted something shorter.

I wanted a Wrangler but they cost too much so I bought a Cherokee and cut the roof off.

needed something to pull the boat that i got for free...then of course it needed to be lifted, to stop the sagging while towing...then it needed tires to go with the lift. i promise, it did.

I had a 2wd C1500 (GMC Sierra) and was tired of getting stuck in the snow. My 91 was the cheapest 4x4 I could find. Soooo happy I got it when I did.

I always wanted a wrangler as a kid. my dad came across a 93 cherokee sport for 3,000 which was weirdly cheap at the time I dont think anyone wanted to buy it cause it was so cheap lol. we had it for around 9 years total went from family car, moms car, sisters car to me. I beat the snot out of it for its last 60k miles till it died, drove my dads truck till that spun a rod bearing so I had to buy a car quick and jumped on the first cherokee I came across at the time. If I could choose again I would have gotten a different one but I needed a car right away at the time. I loved my first XJ and have loved cherokees since. I want an MJ now though.

I was reading a magazine and they are supposed to be the most reliable and cheap rigs. Picked up my 1993 for $540 and only thing it needed was the grounds refreshed. I love it so far. Goes through more than my 1992 gmc Sierra that has a 6 inch lift so its very capable.

At the time I only had my motorcycle, and rain and cold sucks when all you have is a motorcycle. A buddy of mine had a Cherokee that he didnt seem to like, and he couldnt figure out why the 4 wheel drive didnt work, so he asked me if I wanted it. So I gave him $500, drove it home, spent a whole 15 minutes fixing the 4 wheel drive, and thats how I got my first Jeep.
Funny thing is, I never wanted a Jeep of any kind. Only got it because it was cheap. But now I love it, when this one gets destroyed beyond repair, I plan on getting another XJ or an MJ to replace it. Its probably the most capable stock 4x4 I've had, its reliable, and its fun to drive.

It was free. Technically speaking anyway, cost me $600 and change to get it running and safe to drive (the tires had moss growing on them). Then loved it so much after the tranny went out I bought another one.
