okay I really didn't want to make this thread, but it seems it needs to be discussed. Okay, I want to start off by saying that I found this site 2 years ago, it has helped me tremendously and I know I have helped many people with questions they have had. In fact, I started a thread to thank all the mods and members for making such a great, helpful, freindly site. BUT over the last 6 months or so, there has been a ridiculous increase in the amount of crap talking, negative comments, name calling, and things of that nature. It is to the point now, that almost every thread has these immature comments/actions. At first, I thought it was just a few "bad apples" but lately I have observed many senior members, cf veterans, and even the occasional mod doing this. The question I have, is what happened? It's to the point now, that whenever someone doesn't have knowledge but would like to learn, people just tell them how stupid they are, instead of helping them learn. Some of you may forget that every one of us had to learn somewhere, and just because someone doesn't have anyone to teach them. It doesn't make them stupid. I don't know why or how this happened. But it seems that this forum is really losing the things that once made it so great. I don't know about you guys. But I am here to continue learning, and to teach those who want to learn. Not to make people feel like crap because they don't have the knowledge that we do.

 

I think it just seems more laid back and most of it is joking

 

Once the site was sold it changed a bit but not all that much. All the common guys like me are just a bunch of smart a**es that like to joke around. Yes sometimes we get on people because recently it seems like new people are getting lazy and aren't willing to do a little bit on their own when its all pretty much been covered. But its still much nicer here than many other places out there.
The pirate response would have been cool story go drink bleach..

it comes in waves really. if you watch the sections long enough you'll see 3 threads about SYE's in a day or two. exact same questions. it does get frustrating when new threads get posted and the OP didn't even bother to scroll down the rest of the page



there isn't a problem with the forum. Its really great if you're just starting out as a true beginner. there is so much here to soak up and many other beginners to share experiences with. if you flip through some threads you'll see a ton of people have good attitudes and get great feedback by asking educated questions. bad attitudes and people who only come here to have people agree with them can produce some ugly threads. and I think people like me don't really belong here anymore because we've covered the basics but don't have any helpful tech advice to offer yet. but we still stick around because we're bored. and that leads to shenanigans and displaced flaming. lol


the one thing that does get to me is when mods are flat out disrespectful. but they seem to really have cleaned up their act as of late with how they interact with users. even with some of the users that have so-so attitudes and I applaud that
