With an AX-15 3.55:1 on 32s should put you at the stock final drive ratio... I've got 3.55s and 31s behind the shed for the spring, will put be slightly over

Ok I just got a lift on my jeep running 31s now I lost alot of torque as expected. I don't know much about gearing. I have a 5 speed manual trans. If I wear to change my gearing what should I change it to? And how hard is it to do myself? And what would it cost?

If you're going to actually regear you need to think carefully about possible future upgrades. You don't really want to do it more than once. My 3.07 -> 3.55 is actually being done with a full axle swap in the rear. TJ owners eat HP D30s like crazy around here so finding a full one with 3.55s still in it is impossible. I'm going to have my front regeared and I have absolutely no plans to go any larger than 31s for a few reasons.
Gear prices range depending on new, used, axle, and ratio. Like I said, swapping axles from an Automatic-equipped XJ would be a cheap, easy solution. Actually doing the gear work is not beginner level stuff and should be done, or at least supervised, by a professional.

3.55 on 32s right now.
Torn between upgrading to D60s and 37s and going up to 3" lift or sticking with 2" on my stock axles on 33s when I buy new tires. Don't want to regear til I decide.

Well I just pull a boat alot I don't planning on doing anymore lift and tire upgrades. I just need a little more power or else I will have to get rid of my jeep when I upgrade to a bigger boat
Yea that's what I figured. I'm wonder how 3.55 with 32s will effect my spedo, wonder of it will put it back to normal? I want 4.10 but these 3.55 axels will have to do till I find a deal on gears or pre geared axels

Mines pretty close, but once I get up to about 60-70 it's usually off by about 3-5mph. It'll say I'm going 63 and ill be going like 67 or 68 something like that
