Hey guys. This should be interesting to see what was the first part you broke. It can be anything from stock to fab, inside or out, underneath or on top.

Ill go first.

The day I bought my XJ on the drive home took a turn and my elbow was on the center console. Snapped the little clip that holds it down lol still havent replaced it.

Does headliner count? Also, does forcefully ripping it out and throwing it away count as broken?

Valve cover bolt. Got the in/lbs and ft/lbs mixed up.

Admit it, I'm not alone in doing this.

On my 91 the first thing to break was the blower motor. Went out right when the weather got cold.

Or if you want to get technical I guess on the way home a headlight went out but I may have missed that when I bought it.

EDIT: first thing I broke would be the rear view mirror on my 91 I smacked it with my head when I got in one of the first few times.

First real part that I broke while wheeling was a u-joint. It took out the shafts and ball joints when it went.

Broken numerous ring gears, u-joints and shafts since then.

First thing that broke on my 2nd xj was the window crank handle. Rolled it up and it snapped in half.

OMG... that was my most recent break.. cross pin slipped out and smoked everything... that was only about 6 months after a complete rebuild...

My 2 cents to everyone... when u rebuild an axle w/ a lunchbox in it, spend the extra $20 and throw in a new cross pin

Broken parts for me I only count as one's I've broke wheeling... and My first big break at about 4000ft in a whiteout was my power steering pump puked it's pulley.... I don't wish that on anyone... Getting dragged outta a tight trail with a clean rig is not fun and ends bad...
