Thumbs down what the? double life jeep?

So today I was bored and put my vin into Google. What I found pissed me off.

Same jeep. Just "fixed" I always wondered why it had a difderant door on the driver side.
What bothers me is the huge sufferance in miles.... the damaged add shows 200k the fixes one shows 103k. I bought it at 108k.

Could someone run my vin?

They both have the same Vin, dealer plaque on the back, balled up block heater cord by the fuel rail, and "repairs" where it was damaged.
HELP

The point is, be careful what you buy. I paid 1400 for this thing, and have put about 900 more into parts. Its not worth what I have into it at all. It infact still needs more work. The fact that it has nearly twice the miles I was told it did and what showed on the odometer is infuriating. Not to mention the whole part about a structural area of the vehical being crushed... and fixed by what appears to be the same a$$hat who rolled the odo back nearly 100k is not really a "safe" feeling. I was hoping to find someone with a carfax account to run the vin to check for any other s
uprises.

Why didn't you run a carfax when you bought it? I always buy multiple carfax reports when new vehicle shopping.

No offense, but I don't think you should buy used cars anymore you seem to have bad luck.

I think the key to carfax reports is to just use them as one of many tools. But some of their competitors do a better job than carfax does.

if i can get another car sometime this spring, i think i might just gut the jeep go doorless, weld up some braces and go topless. offroad only rig. I just would not feel right about selling it with such screwed up history.

In Holland we got NAP, (Nationaal auto pas) and even this is not trustworthy.
mostly the old Mercedes cars have more miles on the odo then other european cars.

in europe an old american car cost more then an european second hand car, so they call them full options.

next time, same as i do, watch a few diffrent cars, testdrive with them and park somewhere were you could check the whole car.

if you Always dont trust the car bring it to the local garage, pay some money to check it then you know for sure the car is fine.

Heres the thing too...at a point, alot of places dont require odometer reading to be 100% anyways. Usually over 150K, most vehicles have been classified as "met or exceeded mechanical limits". I know in NC and Ga thats the case for registering a vehicle. The odo means nothing after a certain age/ mileage.

I am pretty sure, that here, any vehical over 10 years is "exempt" from mileage disclosure.

Since I wont re-sell it by lying, I wont be able to sell it honestly and get my money back out, I am just going to keep it around and have some fun with it.
It runs perfectly and the 4x4 works great too. It's just not worth anything lol..

Did you ask if it had been wrecked?

the previous owner had no knowledge of this.. It was a couple owners before him that did the repairs and screwed with the odo.
