Pulled her up on the ramps to do a quick oil change. As always, when i think quick, i mean break something in the process. Oil fill cap decided that it wanted to strip (the plastic type with the auto spin when you tighten it), of course i had already pulled the plug. Ran to Oreilly's and picked up a metal quarter turn cap. Went to pull off the old Fram and of course it was tighter than my old wrench could stand. Aint if funny how those things get tighter after you put them on hand tight? Borrowed another filter wrench and got it loosened up, and of course i leaned on the oil pressure switch a bit too much and watched it snap and fall off. Back to Oreilly's, picked up a new switch, and two hours later in the rain after dark i got her full of oil, new FL1A Motorcraft filter, new cap, and at least a new working oil pressure sending unit. Alls good.

I drove to and from work, got my brakeline extender (thanks fox), blew through a red light because I was going WAY too fast for the roads being in the condition they are (no cops, thank god). I rofl'ed at my building manager @ work offering me help if I couldn't get it started in our -10 deg weather. All in all, a good day.

We got nailed here not too long ago. Real good wet 4" of snow, plows are still working at it (wet snow isn't common here, most of it melts by the next day.)Originally Posted by aircruiser

Giving the heep a bath is on the schedule for today. I wheeled the ***** off of it Friday and have just been driving it muddy all weekend. I always get a kick out of the look on the maintenance guy's face after he sees the pile of mud I always leave in the car wash area!

I enjoyed my winter kit today. Super fast heater and awesome starter FTW.

Built a home-made roof rack for extra camping gear and lighter items when I have a full Jeep load.
