all good bud, sorry for that. Just every time I go to the parts store and I tell them jeep cherokee they ask, is that the grand cherokee or the regular cherokee lol
IMO it fits, considering this is the general chat section for the forum, and we have forum areas for Cherokee (includes Wagoneer), Grand Cherokee, and Comanche.

That's not what I was talking about. Never did I say he couldn't post here.
So, finally replaced the serpentine belt! No big deal you might think but, for me there were a couple of things that made it special in its own way. Thanks to received wisdom (i.e. forums & Youtube) I was sufficiently confident to buy one by length rather than application. Why? I remember when I replaced the alternator a couple of years ago it was a bit of a struggle to get the belt back on, even after swapping the original pulley for the larger one it came with. It was a Bosch unit, listed for the XJ but the body must've been a little "fatter" so it stopped before reaching the end of the adjustment. Perhaps it being so tight was what caused the plastic idler to self-destruct - but that was the job in hand. Anyway, the new belt I already had wouldn't fit, nor would the old one, or the belts off either of my other XJ's. Curiously the one I decided on was for a JK or 4.0 WJ, depending on which vendor you believed.
Next was, I managed to install it without reference to the diagram (no fan shroud, well not fitted), the biggest problem was it was stiff & preferred to be in the form it was packed in, so I derived a quite disproportionate sense of achievement from that, especially as I really have no other experience of serpentine belts.
One oddity though, is that when I adjusted it, it stopped about 1/2" short of where it had been, which suggests it's a little shorter than the old , stretched, one whereas it most certainly isn't.
Nice. My GC has no fan shroud either, apparently, the ZJ's are a rare item to find the correct one. I do have an offer on eBay for one in pristine condition and it has the belt diagram sticker on it. YAY!!

It occurred to me later that some may be puzzled by some of my references to the alternator & adjustment. Just remember this is a RHD model, so the alternator is high-up and provides the belt adjustment.
