Ouch ! My XJ has some surface rust on top where paint has flaked off I really need to address that . I’ve been seeing a lot of cheap parts rigs with good engines on Craigslist ! Well it certainly sounds like a project ! Sometimes I think it’d be easier to sell the projects off and buy someone’s complete project !

what brand are they? I'm going to have to do this soon, and I don't want that brand...

I don't know what he used, but my Rough Country ubolts and leaf spring centering pins all did that. They can't even design simple hard parts correctly

I screwed up installing ubolts and centering pins? How? I'd love to know how it was my fault that the threads stripped off my centering pins with less than 15lb-ft of torque.

And, mind you, that's after I called RC and asked them what their leaf shims are made of. They told me "metal." When I asked aluminum or steel, they said steel. I confirmed it three times before placing my order. I got aluminum shims. But surely they can't **** up something as simple as a centering pin, right? At least I can use those, and the order wasn't a complete waste. They're just bolts! But no, they can't even get that right.

The company is trash.

That ain't no dana 35 ya'll. That there is an 8.25 freshly picked from the finest tree (cherokee) at the junkyard just a hint of spring under axle perches and she fits like a glove (I think). So far so good, but I haven't hit any big bumps yet so we will see if the driveshaft bottoms out or not.

You make rebuilding and swapping transmissions sound like it is as simple as an oil change.

Scooped up some Icons yesterday for my '99 using my '97. Fit five wheels and tires nicely in the back. The TuffNet really made this nice and kept them from moving around on the mountain roads (400+ mile road trip to get these).

Cleaned up a bit. They have some curb rash here and there, but they'll be on "the rig" so it's fine.

265/75/R16s are next. I'm thinking of trying ATZs this time.

Thinking there are not many of us who like the Icons. I picked up 2 sets of 4 last year. One set was a 160 mile round trip and cost me $100. The second set of 4 was about a 30 mile round trip and cost me $75. I have to have a full size matching spare. My OCD won't let me not have one. LOL. Will get them on my '00 at some point. Figure I will pick the best 5. They are in pretty good shape too. Thinking about getting them trued before I buy tires.

What did you pay for the five?

I like the wheels, but not for what I'm going for on my vehicles.

Nice! I feel ya man. They should look real good on your '00 - especially if it's close to stock. I have always loved these wheels and finally decided to run a set. I'm usually a 15" wheel guy, but these just do something for me. Being 16x7 isn't ideal, but whatever. It's sometimes okay to go form before function lol. I paid $300, which is too much but I'll take what the free market can give me. As I get older, I get more tired of compromising.

Ha! That's how I feel about my current set up. Objectively, an aluminum 15x8 wheel with enough backspacing to not run a spacer is the way to go, but I really just don't like the AR23s any more. Too chrome for me and I can't stand the Ko2s. What a mistake that was trying to buy into the hype.
