I'm talking about the total re-engineering of a car from the bottom up including engine and trans just to make sure that no part numbers from the previous year will apply any longer. All at much greater costs to themselves and the consumer when it is actually unnecessary.

Well, there's that too... ;-) But, you can blame the EPA for a lot of that, IMO.

Yea that was what I was kinda thinking. There are 4 lines on the Gearwrench one. Figure 0, 8.33, 16.66, and 25 which is where the hot idle will fall. If I recall 13 at a very hot idle is Ok? I read about 22 but never really believed what the gauge in the instrument cluster says.
I am going to have to overthink this more but I think for what I am trying to do I can get by with it. I just need the gauge to read exactly between 8.33 and 16.66 or greater. LOL.
But I digress, we have beat that one up already in the past. I just wanted to point out the new car business model is very similar to the electronics scam model.

Yes, it is. DOH! I meant to say EPCA, not EPA (or rather, CAFE).
You're not usually one to digress when it comes to beating up on those types of topics BO... What gives? :-)

Last time I got into that debate Clown and I were at it for four days or more I think. I'm too sick right now to make that same topic that serious at the moment. lol
