Been messing with vehicles since before I was old enough to drive. NEVER wanted to do it as a profession though. Just always maintained and if at all possible repaired our vehicles and in some cases other peoples.
"Somebody does something, you think to yourself I like that, they do a write up, and you think to yourself I can handle." And then the money just flies out of the wallet. lol

Had a horrible scraping sound coming from the rear end. I thought the worst at first. Then the noise went away, then it came back quieter, then went away, then came back. All in the last day. Pinpointed the noise to the left rear wheel. Took the wheel and drum off. See anything missing in the pic below?
Yeah, the adjuster broke and fell out and was in pieces inside the drum. Luckily Napa had the replacement parts in stock and I am back on the road. Brakes work better now too.

Power windows
I replaced the passenger side front switch. No change. If I jump from the hot yellow to the motor and go with the other to the motor mount nut. Swap at motor, up and down is fine. The the window motor works. In fact, if I get it down, the switch will put it up. Not down. I run continuity from the switch plug to the motor plug; 0 Ohms. I've checked for power on the yellow. Checking for power from the switch, good. Oops, Only checked one side. More checking...
This is our Frankenstein truck. We've reanimated it. It is alive. Swapped transfer case, cleaned the tank, New headlights, new fuel pump, wire repairs, instrument panel repair, tune up, pulled the bumper straight, and it is licensed and insured. Back on the road after being a yard ornament for years.
We're ready to throw the kayaks on top and go fishing.
Now, back Dxing the window problem...

*Looks again
*Tries to talk self out of rear disc conversion
I did this! Which, painfully-obviously, is not a Cherokee, but it had to be done... This previous owner's "mechanic" is the gift that keeps on giving. I'll be glad to sell this thing.

Took the sway bar links off the front to bent them straight, extend them, and i ordered all new Moog bushings. Passenger side lower stud/bolt was pretty much rusted away to nothing so I got a 10.9 grade bolt to replace it with. $52 bucks for everything at Advance orrrr $25 on Amazon prime lol

tire rotation...which turned into replacing 2 wheel studs - driver rear. all was well until i got about 4/5 of the first stud pulled through when the threads stripped. so then i had a wheel stud 80% installed and a nut on the front side that would not back off. dad thought it was funny as this xj is notorious for making even the simplest task; difficult.
