Relocated my CB a bit. Just moved it further back on the roof bracket so it's not hanging down so low. Now that I have the ZJ seat installed, the rearview mirror was right in my field of vision.... created a nifty little blind spot.
Now I can move it up and out of the way a bit. This is definitely my only complaint about these ZJ seats. I'm 6'1", so there's not much headroom to speak of anymore.
Well, that's good news!

Opened up my rear cargo bay cover panels to get ready for tube flare installation. I knew I had rust in the lower rear quarter panels on both sides. It's actually not as bad as I thought. Probably sand it down a bit, throw some POR15 on, go from there.

Reason i'm asking, i have an unexplained rattle in that area when the Jeep hits a sharp bump just right.
I see a lot of cables and such that could be the reason for the rattle.

If you want to poke your noggin in there: There are 3 Phillips screws towards the rear of the quarter panel trim panel. Undo them. Then undo two of the Phillips screws on rear floor trim near the hatch latch (the floor trim lays on top of the quarter panel trim). Then firmly pull on the quarter panel trim and it will come right off. Cheers dude!
No, I don't lick fish.
Attempted to remove the NSS to clean it... got roadblocked by the stupid cable tie at the top of the bellhousing. If I'd have known that was going to be an issue, I would've snipped it when I did the trans swap. Bolted everything back into place so I could drive it to work... got it on a little too snug, so now my NSS doesn't read "Park" very well... so I have to start it in neutral until I can get to that STUPID zip tie.

Yessir, you 100% correct. There are weird little black insulation pillows shoved down in the gap from the factory, at first I thought it was a brick of weed or something. Ha

Gonna check it out maybe next week when i've got a bunch of other interior things to do including adding an A pillar grab handle.
Afraid of the rust i might find there. lol
The rattle though sounds more like a metal on metal thump.
It might be that dam old nut strip that was pushed forward into the frame rail. Long story.
Its worth taking that rear panel off and having a look.

Just purchased this for $30 shipped. Brand new. Never used the guy says. I like the idea of new old stock.
