I looked all day to see if I could get a mini console shifter cover thing for a reasonable price out of an MJ or old XJ. Turns out, it's really hard to find one!
Also installed CB temporarily until I get my new center console built.

Swapped the rear gears out today. Officially 3.73s at both ends. I feel that they are a perfect match for 31s. Very happy.
I also got to drive my buddies xj with a lunch box locker. They are not that loud and can barely even tell its there on the streets. Will be the next upgrade. Here his xj is for reference.

I had baby cow gloves so it wasnt too bad except for for a couple sections. I was honestly surprised at how fun tig can be.

Very nice. You will enjoy a water cooled tip next time you use one. Helps make the occasion a bit more relaxing. You can also use thinner gloves to get a better feel

I actually dont own the welder, I was at my friends house. I wish I had a tig machine. And yeah the gloves I used were pretty thin so I could actually have control.
Changed battery cables over to xjwonder's stuff. I'm going to finish the starter cable later. I saw someone take a Dremel to the block connecting the red and green cable and separate them. Going to try that instead of unbolting the clip retaining the two wires.

Did the "drain and fill" to the automatic transmission by using the drain plug, very handy. Not sure when the PO did this last (or ever) since the fluid that came out was BLACK. Seems to shift easier now but still has occasional problems going into reverse. Next week I will drop the tranny pan and do the gasket and filter and see if that helps. Also changed out my serp belt for a (once Goodyear) Continental Gatorback belt. No real noticeable difference, but they are reported to run cooler so we'll see. It IS prettier than the Dayco belt that it replaced and now I have a spare if the Gatorback ever breaks.

Not too bad. But the positive fuse box to alternator is the one that gets the fuse. Some of the cables are kinda long, but it's not to hard to route them. Just like anything else, the sooner you start it the sooner you finish lol.

Don't waste your time on the "filter" it's just a screen for big chunks.
