Replaced my idler pully for the serpentine belt. I'd post a pic but the RHD jeeps are totally different (Alternator at the top, AC at the bottom). Left the original belt on as it looked fine and kept the new one as a spare.

Annoyingly I snapped a bolt on the E-Fan top clip and had to the mangle the p-clip to get it out. The fan now has one broken bottom tab and one loose top corner on the same side. 3 out of 4 attachment points was OK but 2 doesn't cut it. Duct tape will have to do until the replacement p-clip arrives from the USA. I couldn't even get a zip tie on it

I'm just praying the e-fan doesn't get loose from the tape and flop back into the pulleys/belt or it could get quite loud and expensive.

fingers crossed

Wife has been saying that I can't get another xj because we already have 3 cars for the two of us. So I put her extra car on Craigslist.

24 hours and a half dozen real buyers... But they're all coming in from 3-4 hours away. And no, it's not people asking to ship, they're coming to town this weekend to buy cars. Darndest thing I've ever seen...

Got my XJ running finally. After checking if the injectors were firing with a noid light, I moved onto the spark side of things. Found that the coil was barely producing a spark but it was there which confirms the CPS working. I then checked if there was spark at the plug wires which there was. I worked upstream from there and swapped out the coil. Jeep purrs like a kitten now. Crazy how your mood changes when you finally come out the other side of a diagnosis.

So now that the Jeep runs again........

Today I replaced the downstream o2 sensor. Hoping it would get rid of a cylinder 6 misfire thats been around for awhile. Cleared the codes, and moved some bulbs around in the cluster so the CEL actually comes on (bulb burnt out about 3 years ago). So far this has been the longest my CEL has been off and no codes thrown in almost 4 years. I'll be having a few beers tonight to celebrate.

Sadly i can still hear a misfire from the exhaust occasionally. A lot less however so i don't know.

Default nifty bluetooth device

wanted hands free phone, got it!. this thing connects to my phone automatically and talks thru the radio 2 ways. first u can tune to fm like 87.9m etc and it uses fm. my radio has a 1/8 in input jack and the bt has a cord that plugs in there, much ezier, just select ext, no tuning.
i tested it both ways and its ez,sounds good, caled my landline.
$20 cheap on amazon, "otium" brand. oh it reads car voltage like 14,3v and announces when connected/disconnected. what else i dont know yet!
oh, plug it in power outlet, it runs itself.

oh oh, has a micro sd card for music storage or play music from phone , which i dont mess with.
and usb charger jack for phone, etc. done..

Those were the hot thing to have before Bluetooth became common in cars. I think I still have one somewhere, as well as a USB one for computers

+1. I was worried about cracking my new manifold and bending the downpipe. Took it to a friend who heated it up until it was glowing red with an oxygen/acetylene torch, and then had the same opinion - but it popped out before it did bend.
