What did you do to your Cherokee today?
A list of things I replaced on my Jeep the last 2 days: brakes, ball joints, steering stabilizer, adjustable tracbar, whole new steering system, axle shaft u joints (plus another driver side axle shaft I had to get from the jy), lower control arms and added 1.25" spacers in front. The back will have to wait.
I'm calling BS, working on a Jeep is never that easy.

true enough I guess. Seriously though....one section of bellhousing lower and it would be a snap.I don't even know how I can get in there with a rag or anything to clean it up to get a better view of the bolts.

Yeah I tried from under, I can get my hand up and touch the bolts but trying to actually get a wrench on is a different story. Same story from the top. I can touch the bolts but no way to wrench on them.
Mine is also the 4.0 ... not sure if the clearance is different between the 4.0 and the 4 cyl or not but I just can't seem to get the right angle.
What worries me more is if I do manage to get the bolts out I can't imagine how tough it will be to get em back in correctly lol.

It's easier than you might think. I thought the same thing when I had to replace mine, but I was able to get to it with a 3/8" ratchet and 2 long extensions. Once I figured out the trick, I had it out and replaced in about 15 minutes. Didn't even need a swivel adapter.
Sure, it's still a pain to get to, but it's doable.

I mean... I know it can be done...you and others have done it. Probably just finding the right angle.
quick question. Did you clean yours up first get it to start then replace it or did you just flat out replace it?
I just replaced it. Symptoms were that it was randomly stalling, but would start right up. Then it was randomly stalling, but wouldn't start right up. Then, it just didn't want to start most of the time.
Replacing crank sensor fixed it right away.

Ahh I see.
I am about to pull my hair out trying to figure out what is going on with mine. The more I think about it though the more I think I got a bad fuel pump. I got fuel to the rail when I replaced it but no pressure. Then the following day ... or the day after there was no fuel at the rail at all. I never once heard the new pump turn on. Its just been a real mess and I am about at my wits end.
