Well I got the new aux fan in, the new heater core in and washed my evap coil. It was extremely dirty. I'm went ahead and painted the dash and some while it was out. I do like the original burgundy color but it was starting to fade in a lot of paces so I got a case of trim paint and went at it. It'll take me a few weeks to get it all done. Then new carpet and a headliner.

Finally changed the oil in my newly purchased 96 Country. Had put in some SeaFoam and let it work for about 200 miles. Then put in a PureOne filter and Rotella T6. One odd glitch...I bought the larger capacity oil filter and could not get it into the space for the filter either from above or below. Went back and bought the standard capacity filter and still had some effort getting it in from above. The previous owner had the Cherokee serviced where convenient; this was a K-Mart oil filter that was the smaller diameter and length, more like a "universal fit" for a small motor. Clearly not sufficient capacity. Fortunately, I think it received only daily driver use, no off road/towing, etc.
When I bought it, the oil looked clean. After a couple of hundred miles with the SeaFoam, it was black, so I suspect it had some effect. So I feel better about my motor now. Next will be trans and rear diff. Liking my XJ.
