That's just the way it is
Many people tell me: why don't you get something more economical, you travel so much?
My Answer: "I didn't buy a jeep for fuel economy... Or comfort...Or Speed.... or safety.... Or to be green..... I'm happiest driving my jeep and that's all that matters"
Sigh.. to be rich.... I would drive my jeep more

Default front driveshaft strap and bolt replacement

i got a strap and bolt kit online and it includes 4 bolts the same length. i was told that the rear bolts need to be longer.... am i screwed? do i need 2 "short" bolts for front straps and 2 longer ones for the rear?

As long as the same length bolts are used on the same shaft and that the bolts are not shorter than the replacement. If they are longer, they will just stick out a little bit. no worries.

Finally got U joints in the shafts, put the diff back in, hubs back on, and now it's pissing.

I'd buy a large portable garage if that wasn't lift money and in a schedule (3000 KM road tip in Sept, wheee)

Tried to modify my stock crossmember to work with the new mounts I build for the long arms. But it's a fail. Then went this morning to find done 2x6 1/4 in tubing and typical small town no luck. So fail again I guess it will be Monday or Tuesday before I get what I need to make it. So I will go replace i2 sensors on the wife's jeep and get ready for a night run.
