What did you do to your Cherokee today?
Two weeks ago it was a cracked flex plate. $600 later because I didn't have time or place to do it myself. That's $600 the golden goose laid. Now I am getting creative with top ramen and BBQ sauce sandwiches weeks on end..
Friday morning 4:00 am on the way to work doing about 75. Front end locks up solid, both wheels from the feel no pull to any side. Im just able to get it off to the side when it skids to stop. W.T.F.!!!! Pull seat cover out of my ***. Verify what it is, tranny shifts into gears, motor is fine (somewhat recent 4.6 built myself). Binds up when under power. Wait for the tow and get it to my storage/shop. Jack up all ends to figure it out and its both sides front hard to turn. Pop the pumpkin cover off and not a thing.. Really..... Nothing! No oil!!!! Gears look ok so im sure its the carrier or pinion bearings. I have run this sh(j)eep for 50k miles with no problems 160k on OD. No spotting on driveway and no evidence of splatter under.
Spent the rest of the day removing the unit bearings PITA
and popping off the inner shafts U joints off both sides and replacing the unit bearings back on. No problems now. Cept im 2wd.........I suddenly feel

Nope, not anymore. Broken 4wd CAN be reversed.
Looking on the bright side of this......... I will give a gas mileage increase update in a few days.
Is it Jeep, me or what?!!? And why does this frekin little cloud keep following me?

Just did a full tune up, replaced water pump, hoses, and thermostat, plugs and wires, fuel filter, changed the oil and now I am getting ready to put on a new lift kit and get rid of the old one. Should be a fun day

I cut and folded my rear quarter panels... Any input on undercoating or silicone to protect cuts. I used a primer on the exposed area but I still think an undercoating or something like that would help.
i finally took my flairs off and that plastic under the front bumper yesterday and it looks a little better i think and today put some sylvania extravision headlights in then went and drowned it in a mud hole with the doors off

for me, free 31" BFG A/Ts to serve DD duty!
gonna put them on the stock xj rims..just gotta get a freebie one since the other has a 33" cooper on it for a trail spare.

today i put a new water pump on my jeep. since i have not been on for the past few months what i did in that time was, Took the front flares off ( got the jeep muddier) blew a pair of mud terrains, replaced the alternator, patched the hole in the gas tank, had a sound system get stolen, got a competition system to replace it (it is hard to stay in the jeep when it is turned up) built custom bolts that use lock pins instead of nuts to hold the drop bar so now i have quick disconnects for the front sway bar, broke my exhaust and looked for rims tires and a 4. inch lift.
Pulled off front bumper yesterday, top has gone rusty. Wire prushed the whole lot, did first coat of metal primer last night and second coat this morning. Will let cure for a day or so and then start applying the black onto it again. Should look brand new. What a PITA to get off though

gonna make some profit on that...
