Jeep rule #1: Never calculate how much you spend in total; just budget enough that you can keep spending.

OttawaXJ posted up some math in favor of this... IIRC his post had purchase price, mileage of both vehicles, maintenance, cost of fuel, insurance, time to break even, and savings over X years of how much more you'd be able to pour into mods on the XJ lol

Well today I drove home from my dads with no shocks!

Kinda sketchy, but if it wasn't for the lack of rebound control, it rode like a dream.

I was going to just weld up rear sway bar brackets (off my parts jeep) as BPE because when I went to swap the shocks yesterday one upper bolt broke, so I anticipated all 4 uppers to break. They did. What I didn't expect, and what sent me home with no shocks, was the lower mount snapping on one of them!

Ah well I got a baby sitter tomorrow so I can fix this mess.

Drove it to Denny's and considered what my next set of tires will be and swore at it for the turn signals sudden lack of proper functioning.

Did you put the hitch back on or are you dumping it? Cuz I've been planning on getting a front hitch...
