Decided to say "to hell with it" and put a Flowmaster Super 44 muffler on my XJ. Sounds really good, but actually not quite as loud as I would like. It's only put in place of the OEM muffler, with the stock tailpiping still in there, so I think running 2.5" piping all the way back will make it a touch louder. But it definitely sounds good though, I like it!

They say the 40 series is the best and burliest sound out of the 4.0 i6.

Iv heard both on youtube in comparison videos and there is a big difference.

If you chop the tail pipe off right after the muffler it will also be much louder. But depending on how you point the tip you may get exhaust drone in the cab.

Took my XJ to the Maryland Emissions test and passed. CO2 was actually lower than 2 years ago but hydrocarbon was up. Of course I fiddled with some things before hand to improve my chances of passing.

not today, but recently set up a deal with one of my offroad club members to buy his TNT long arm setup This should be a good winter of jeep modding: Front suspension, 2x6 sliders, hybrid cage, re-gear and lockers
