Got the DAC Explorer 2 SUV tent in the mail yesterday and tried setting it up today. Since it's a "universal fit", I figured it wouldn't really fit anything. I was right. What a crappy fit! Gaping spaces between the Jeep & the tent. Admittedly, I didn't spend a whole lot of time trying to adjust it. I had places to see, people to do, etc.

If anyone has picked up this tent and figured out how to set it up for our rigs, let me know. Or if you have a recommendation for another brand of SUV tent, I'd like to know. As far as I could tell, this tent was the only one of it's type to allegedly fit the XJ. Mainly, I need something that will keep the bugs out. I'm in SoCal, so I'm not worried about rain (what is that?) getting in.

Actually, I have that one! It fits our Jeeps pretty well. I like it! Although, it's a bit more involved to set up. I use it for longer camping trips. I got the DAC because there have been more than a few times I wanted something quick and easy. And since it's just me, it's a lot more real estate than I need.

Great! Thanks for the info... I'm wanting to do an expidition trailer eventually, but I figured one of these would be great until then. I have a family of 4 (very soon to be 5) so I can use all the real estate I can get - figure I'd have the kids sleep in the back of the heep and me and the wifey would sleep in the tent itself.

Motor swap all done. Came out of a wreaked Xj, was pro built with less than 70,000 on it. It was serviced at a very good local shop. All the receipts were in the glove box. Oil every 3000-3500, Tuned up and coolant system serviced every year.
Looked almost new inside when I replaced all the gaskets.

Default pretty standard

Oil change, new air filter and a new set of plugs. Of course, it was only after putting in the new oil that I realized I need to change the pan gasket. I'll probably let it leak awhile and get some use out of that new oil. Anyone got any tips on replacing the pan gasket?

I bought a jeep tent for a liberty and it works awesome. A little big, YES and a PITA to set up by yourself, but doable.

Sounds like its time for a new fan clutch or water pump.
