Took some stock center caps, painted 'em black, and mounted them on my D-Windows.

Got a good quote ($850) for painting the Jeep from a place near my house. I just don't have the time or the facilities to do the job myself and with all the surface rust that's building up (how does that happen in SoCal?), there's going to be a fair amount of prep work to be done.

Now, should I have him keep the door handles black or should I have them painted the same color (mil-spec desert tan) as the body?

Keep them black, our hmmwv's that are tan have black details, like unit number, identification, tire pressure stamps ect.

Leave them black. I know what you mean I found rust on mine and its been a ca jeep its whole life, bought new from a dealer in the lbc lol. Why dont you raptor line the outside? Waay more durable than a paint job, and they have a tintable kit you can add your paint color to and spray it.
I could help you if you want, its way cheaper too Im not too far north from sd
