Found a bolt protruding out from the bottom of my front diff cover. Turns out to be one of the bolts from the ring.

Hoping that was sarcasm. Yes, some people do use tape. You should use VHT Nightshade. It's a spray-on tint for lights so you aren't cutting your output. I did mine the right way and used VHT, but I put on too many coats, and my low beams were pretty much useless. If you do use tape, you're completely blocking that output. Personally, I won't do it again on my next Jeep, but I'm not saying you can't.

I just want to do it for a few days to see how I like the look of it

I haven't done it yet. But I'm wanting to swap out the original gauge cluster lights for the little HID or LED bulbs. But idk where to find em. Any suggestions?

I did mine with Oracle Vinyl, havnt noticed any difference in my lights at all, pretty much the same stuff as black electrical tape. My indicators are done with 30% window tint
