Thanks, Tim, and everyone else who responded. I didn't realize how popular she was. Think I could still win Cherokee of the Month like this?

Thanks, I didn't know. I just uploaded everything to my album here and then updated the link in my sig.

Short version: Dirt road + deer in the road, halfway around a corner = 1 1/2 rolls.

I hit my brakes to slow down, but they locked unexpectedly. There was a 2' berm on the inside curve of the road, and my left front went up it. For the 5 seconds following that moment, I developed a hatred of lateral motion and gravity.

Oh man. That could of been so much worse, i hit a deer last week. I seen her.coming and my brakes lock up bad in wet weather so i hit the gas and clipped her with my front home made deer killer bumper lol. She ran away luckily. But im glad your here talking with us

That's a good way to look at it. Not the first time I've totaled a vehicle. Last time, my best friend was in the car with me, and I still haven't forgiven myself for putting her in danger. This doesn't even compare to that, but I already miss the XJ.
Service members? You're speaking to one, but I think you know that. I appreciate the kind words.

Yeah I followed your rig enough to realize you were service. I come from a family FULL of military. I myself never enlisted, but most all of my family besides me is either current or former Air Force, Army or Navy. And that's also true, you were alone...very lucky.

Dad was airborne/air assault maintenance, mom was a medic, sister was human resources, I do communications, uncle was in tanks, grandpa was Navy, and his brother was in the original Air Assault under Colonel Moore, killed at Ia Drang in Vietnam (the battle in We Were Soldiers). Every generation of my family has had military service since we came over from Scotland in the late 1770s to help the colonists fight against the English. It's a bit of a tradition, but it's all choice. Nobody is pressured into it.

I just took a razor to the hatch tint on my XJ that the previous owner decide to fail on. Haha. Took me a good 2 hours or so with like a 1.2" razor blade. Haha. Also just sprayed on real bed liner in my wheel wells and my kick panels. Woo.
