what is the deal with my 10mpg
I bought my jeep with 4.5 inch lift and 33s i get about 200 to a tank ish. I figure about 10 a gallon. Has a locker in the rear and stock gears 3.55 i do understand i need to be running about 4.10 and working on that but i would think i could be doing better then 10 right? And oh ya airaid intake and tbs stage 1 jet chip and a flowmaster don't know what that affects should be better.

I'm on a 33's with a 6" lift, intake, throttle body spacer, straight piped, and stock 3.07 gears.. I get 10 mpg too, but I've just learned to deal with it. sucks I can only get 200 miles out of 65$ lol. really you need 4.56's or 4.88's. I haven't quite felt the need to regear yet, but I'm sure if you do it'll help a lot.

Get read of the chip!!
Slow, lazy O2 sensor can cause low mileage.
Driving habits???
Most likely the 3.55's are part of your problem.
Your fuel tank is going to be 20.2 gallons
I run 33's and 4.11's and get 14-15 adverage mileage.

I have pulled the chip off for a while and did not help at all it actually makes a difference but i have thought maybe the cat 02 sensors or muffler is old too. And ya it does suck running only 200 on a tank

what year is your xj? I only have the 02 sensor by the headers, so straight piping it didn't throw a code. plus the extreme heat under my floor went away

99% of "chips" people add just dump more fuel.
you may have a heavier foot than you think (its really easy to do when you have stock gears and big tires)

same, if not worse, due to more tread in contact with the road. doubt it would even make a difference though.

I would re gear like i am planning to from what i hear it will help a ton and the answer of what year or is above it is a 01 so it sucks lol there is i think 4 02 sensors on mine. And i know i am not goin to get the best gas mileage running 33 on stock gears but just was curious to see if it was about average for this setup and what might help. Thanks for all the help and i will probably just get rid of the chip. And try to stay of the throttle more. I read something about different injectors helping. Is this true
