I have used the kit before on a 5" lift and I am going to get it again soon for my Red XJ with a 7" lift. As long as you do the cutting,drilling, and taping right then it will work just like a SYE. The only thing is if you have a '84-'96 TC then you have to get the seal flange as well and that is like $40.
