Last night I was working and where I was working only has street parking. I had to run to my Jeep to get something and noticed my rear roof rack was laying on the ground. I picked it up and noticed my roof was caved in and foot prints all over. I started looking over my truck and all I see is a pair of foot prints leading up over my truck onto the roof, they stopped at the rear roof rack bar. I then noticed my Co workers civic had a broken windshield, caved in hood, and blood all over it. So we reviewed the tapes and witnesses a guy in his early 20's climb my push bar, climb my roof, trip over the last roof rail, and head first land on my Co workers car. His friends helped him away and he looked really really hurt. The local Pd is keeping a eye out at the hospitals because it was vandalism on federal property. I do have full coverage but I don't want to turn in a claim yet because they will total it and it will go against my insurance. I wish I could get whole of the little %*$$%&*$. I'm gonna wait and try and get the roof really warm and throw some dry ice on it and see if some of it will cone out. I hate vandals

 

Wow, what a shame. Some people just blow my mind. I bet the fall from the top of a Jeep to the hood of a Honda felt good on the face.

You think insurance will total it? If they do, nothing a few swings of a hammer can't fix!

 

Could be worse but I don't see why they would total it?

As far as a claim, I'd skip all that. Just take the headliner out and use a rubber mallet and gently pound the roof back up. It won't be perfect, but it will be smoothed out some. It looks bad, but not end of the Jeep bad.
I wouldn't even turn that in to insurance.

Get a few estimates to fix it and then wait and see if the police find the guy and take him to small claims court for the repair cost.

 

I really wouldn't even file, like he said use a hammer or a dent puller a rack would cover it anyway

 

u dont need heat or a hammer (although using a hammer is fun) just go on the inside of the jeep where the dent is and push up and its fixed. i acceidently stepped on my roof and just pushed it out and it hasnt caved in since.

 

I'm sorry for the damage to your jeep, but it sounds like the *** clown got a better punishment than any court could dish out!! But yeah hopefully they still get caught cuz vandalizing federal property is garanteed jail and fine. Either way your jeep got the last word and the honda kicked him while he was down!.

 

That really stinks. Growin up, we all knew that you never screwed around with somone's car. That Dumb $h!T got a face full. Like they said, your jeep got the last word by him tripping and as bad as your roof is..... your co-worker seems to have gotten the short end of the stick....

Hope your local PD picks him up & you get a chance in court to get some cash back. A nice Roof rack would cover that up and look good with some Hellas!!!!

Some people have no respect for other people's property. It's a sign of the times. Though the clown got some instant karma. You should be able to push up the dents though you'll still have a ding here and there. It add's character... I remember a few years back on youtube some twit did the same thing with a Lamborghini.. IIRC the clown nearly got his head caved in, and had to pay for the repairs.
