i just picked up a warn 8274 winch with 8000 lb capacity i was wondering if you guys know anything about them? how much its worth and has a date code of CW8 how old is it? thanks

 

I've had a couple and they never die and if they try you can rebuild them. Prob one of the toughest electric winches ever made. They are heavy, why I'm not running one, and have a unique mounting pattern but it's a great winch. I think they have been making them for about 50 years and still make them. New ones sell for $2400 but the one's I've had I paid around $200 for. They are also the fastest Warn offers.

They are maybe the best winch ever made, and they are easily rebuilt, and they are the fastest winch with no load, but the 9.5XP warn is the fastest winch under load.
