I just bought my XJ. I really wanna put bigger tires on and lift it and all that fun stuff. But of course, I'm only 17 and I work a low-paying job. What are your best suggestions, and what are the cheapest, well-working lifts and tires you know? Thanks.

Buy tires used keep eye on forums. For lift id recomend the rough country kit for a cheap lift with shocks, or do a shackle spacer lift.

Really i wish id listened to others and saved for a 4.5" kit with arms, trac bar, etc. By the time i redo what i got and get the extras i could have saved a good chunk of money.

If you got junk yards around there is a lot you can do. Search budget boost and bastard packs. Tires will cost ya just keep searching local forums and craigslist. If you have couple hundred bycks google Treadright for some retreads.

I run a 3" RC aal in mine and ran about $375 with shipping. For a jeeper on a budget I would recommend RC not the greatest out there but I have had no problems and I know two other with similar XJs running the same lift one longer than I have it and there has held up good. My only other suggestion is if you can round up some used parts and make a custom lift if your good with automotive. You can easily fit up to 31s w/o trimming and probably 32's with trimming. Good Luck!

255 before shipping and easy 3" lift cut fenders then stuff some 32 or 33 tires on it.

Well first off research research research! There is lots of threads on this, and being on a budget you need to look everything up! And secondly i would recommend bastard packs and tbird coils. 4.5" of lift for 100 bucks.

Thats without add-a-leafs thoug and lower control arms which would be a bit better, and if you want to spend about $200 more than the price I listed you can get all new set of leaf springs to help prevent a sagging rear(which sucks)

Bastard pack is when you take apart your leafs, insert an extra leaf and put them back together. TONS of threads on the subject.
