Im planning to get some lights from walmart, they are Baja and they are rectangular with little plastic brush guards on them. There $20 a pair. Im wounderin if it would be ok to just buy 4 of em and drill them right onto my roof. How would i put the wires so there not hangin off the side of the jeep. I herd someone say the lighs are good for the money just didnt know about mountin straight on the roof.

do you have a stock roof rack? a lot of people bolt the lights to one of the crossmembers and fish wires through the back hatch.

otherwise, I would not recommend drilling through your actual roof to mount them. you can get gutter mounted light bars through some offroad companies. just not a good idea to drill any holes in the roof in my opinion.

and yeah, they are good for the money. I'm gonna get some myself soon too! obviously KCs or Hellas are nice, but hey a budget is a budget

I would lift first and put the lights on the stock rack but that's me. And the lights are pretty good. Have 2 as reverse lights and they are awesome

As stated, they're good for the money. But your going to want to upgrade the wiring. And evenrtually you'll want something brighter. But since they're street legal (wattage wise) they are a great place to start. IMO

I have 4 of the blazer lights (wally world special lol) on a KC light bar, I really wanted something brighter, but didnt have much to spend. I will probably go brighter later on, and mount these somewhere else or something, Before I had the light bar I had 2 cheap lights mounted to the stock roof rack bar, and they worked fine.

pics of the 4 lights on light bar

they are decent

here are the 2 cheap lights i had before.. cant find a pic of them turned on though. Like I said they were mounted directly to the roof rack bar

Dont mount them directly to the roof!!! Seriously it is just a bad idea. Plus I had those lights and although they were decent for 20$ the mounts rusted quite a bit causing stains on the bumper they were mounted on.

Why not bolt them to your bumper? Or you can buy a visor and mount them on there i use to have mine on my visor, when i had one; better yet clamp em to your roof rack.
