Default Vehicle Tilter! Anyone have anyinfo on these?

I had never heard or seen one of these before a few mons ago when a guy had one for sale on craigslist. I was going to go look at it but wasn't able to before he sold it. The concept seemed real simple and the pics looked interesting but when I email the website for more info I get no answer. Maybe out of business I don't have a clue! Looks to me it ought to work and easy enough to build one. The pics on website aren't really clear enough though to really see it. It supposedly works with a 1/2" drill to make it move which I believe I can see mounted close to the left rear in one of the pics. If these things work I might just build one. I just keep thinking of all the extra leverage I could get by standing up instead of being underneath a vehicle not to mention making it easier to see things. The company is/was in Germany that came up with it.

Looks like you attach semi-circles to the wheel lugs and use a lever action to roll the vehicle up on it's side on those semi-circles.

Default exactly

Yes it attaches by removing 3 tires so it bolts to the hubs! The piece that goes on the back 2 hubs is one piece and thats the piece that moves with the drill at the point where its hinged or pinned. The piece on the front hub just travels or follows the rear piece as the vehicle tilts up. These are my thoughts about the way the thing works just from looking at the pics!

Default anyone else want to weigh in on this?

Any thoughts about the way this thing works would be welcome because like I said, I cant seem to get any response from this company when i email. Nor have I been able to find anyone who sells it in the US. Its just by trying to decifer this thing from the pics that I have come up my own thoughts about its operation.

Default In one of the pics there are jackstands under the vehicle.le.

Thats to stabilize it obviously! I think it would be safe if its built out of thick enough tubing thats bent. Maybe I should try it on someone else's Jeep first though! lol

I'm thinking that the safest way to do something similar to that would be a rotisery. One that would mount to the main unibody rails.

whether or not its strong enough is not a question. the real question is how far can you tilt a jeep or any car beofore its laying upside down because you tilted it tooo far

What about all your fluids?
If you roll a car just on its side youll end up burning oil.

On their website it shows that mercedes at almost 90deg. Thats just crazy and more so with a top heavy vehicle! I know I wouldn't go to 90 and I dont really see why you would need to. I'm thinking 75 to 80 deg. max And as far as fluids they recommend removing the battery which makes sense, Gas tank I would think should be almost empty and tilted away from the fill spout. engine oil should be fine because its in the bottom of the engine and the same with the transmission right?

The heck with what the neighbors think! I'd be more worried that the cops would show up to investigate a roll over accident in my driveway! lol
