Urban wheeling tales

Anybody have some urban tales that are good for a laugh? Such as "I always wanted to get on that grass hil - finally did and tipped over!"

My most interesting so far is on a snow mound. I was pushing my luck before work one day and ended up badly high centered. I ended up hooking up to a lamp post about 50 feet away and winching myself off it. It was pretty epic.

I also broke both front axles on my dad's 3/4 ton Chevy truck. Maybe not a big deal, but I was 14, and it happened in our driveway. But since it was not an XJ, maybe it is not a valid story :D

You guys have any whoppers for all our entertainment?

One late night after work, at like 2am, I tried to drive over one of those concrete parking curbs. Worked great, Jeep climbed right over and clunked down on the other side. Then the rear tires hit it... couldn't get traction, and I was stuck. Thankfully I was able to back off. So to this day there are two black skidmarks halfway up the side of the concrete parking curb.

2wd strategy: "hit it like you want a baby" didn't work out or you didn't want to try it?

:)

and I guess for a quick rural one, I blasted our bull with mud today, because he kept bucking at my Jeep by our mudhole. He's still mad at me, in person, he knew I was driving.

Back when I lived in Philly, I was waiting for my wife to come out of a store.

Usually this could take hours. Bored, I spotted some concrete steps between two stores at the strip mall where i was.

It was pretty dead there that day so I took my YJ up the nine steps. A lady came out of a store & asked why would i do that.

I said because I can, it's a jeep thing you wouldn't understand.:D

i usually drive over the curb stop things to get out of parking spaces, climbed the porch steps in the back (only 2), and drove over an island thing in a parking lot that was about as long at the tires and roughly a 30-40* angel extreme mall crawling lol but i mud and trail ride too so i cant offically call it a mall crawler

Well this is not intentional urban wheeeling but sort of applies. I was with my brother in his lifted cherokee and we hit the casino for some drinks and gambling. I thought my brother was ok to drive, but when we went to leave the casino he punched it off the line when the light turned green and started turning left. He turned the corner a bit too sharp and clipped the median curb. The jeep immediately started tipping over and my brother could not get it under control. I watched from the passenger seat as the curb quickly approached my window. We landed on the passenger side and continued to roll until we were upside down on the sidewalk. I had to crawl out of a broken window and ended up walking home with the other passenger while my brother left the scene in a police cruiser.

one day i was starting to turn around because i noticed i took a wrong road that led me in the opposite direction i wanted to go, and went to hard to the right before pulling to the left and completely SUNK in a ditch that looked to be about 3-4 inches deep. In reality i was right, the ditch was only about that deep but when you put a big piece of steel with bald tires in quickmud it sinks pretty fast. tried to drive out and ended up sliding the whole jeep into the now BIG mudhole. I just so happened to have firewood in the back and tried to get out with it.......all it did was sling them about 15 foot behind me. ended up getting pulled out by my buddys f250 diesel right as the owner of the ditch was walking outside surely saying WTF?

i tried to snow drift with my XJ once when it was stock. i slid off and hit an old lady crossing the street dead center and cleaned her right off the i'm just kidding.
i just slid off and climbed a snow bank sideways. didn't flip, just sank it the snow bank while i was sliding sideways. it was impossible to move an inch. i had to go home and get my dodge to come and pull it out. it was unbelievable, because my dodge didn't even spin out while yanking the XJ out of the snow sideways. the XJ didn't have a scratch on it.
