Two months ago I purchased a brand newish 2016 JKU Black Bear after coming from an 2006 LJ. This JKU has been my most favorite vehicle but in comes life.
I just sold my former home and moved the the Maine mountains to build a new home. But, the bank told me that I must loose the Jeep to score the mortgage (ah student loans). So the dealer is taking back my JKU and now I'm looking for an XJ for a daily driver (TJ) is a bit small for my lifestyle.
Looks like I am moving back to Cherokee Forum, but not before I ask you fine people for one more opinion:
I have narrowed down to two-ish options. The first is my Old XJ is for sale again. I built this Jeep from stock form and the now owner has racked up some more miles (185k total) and replaced parts as needed. The benefit is I build this Jeep a couple years ago and didnt skimp out on my mods. The bad is the high mileage and added damages from the new owner.
A daily driver and something to restore huh? A quick look at your previous XJ shows it would take a lot of $$ to get it back to near stock. Too many mods I would think. I'd be looking elsewhere. Might just be me but the 0331 head on the 00-01 XJ's concern me too much.
