It should be fine. some of the older power steering systems run fine on trans fluid. If it seems to be a problem get an old turkey baster suck out the reservoir and fill with power steering fluid.

The service manual I have (2000) says explicitly not to use transmission fluid. You may not have a problem, but if it were me I would use the turkey baster method to drain the reservoir completely, fill with PS fluid, run it for awhile, and repeat the process until most of the trans fluid is out.

This forum is for the Cherokee XJ made from 1984-2001. You are referring to the KJ platform, called the Liberty in North America and Cherokee elsewhere. You will probably find better advice on another forum.
