I'm looking to get a decent set of trail lights (4 lights for the bar across) what would you recommend, budget is something like $200 for all for lights, help me out here guys!?!?!

 

For as cheap as they are, I think the harbor freight lights that run 20 a pair, with switch and wires and all, are pretty bright. Just my opinion. What kind of off roading do you do?

You can get a pair of KC daylighters for $100 so they seem to be in your budget range and KC's are not cheap.

 

I got my 7" hid offroad lights for 138 shipped for the pair. They are 35watts and 3200 lumen each The 2 of these are brighter then the 4 150watt daylighters I had on my Tj and Yj

I gotta cheap set, like 45 bucks, from one-o-the national car parts stores. 55 watts. They have held up to some pretty good bashing, the mounts have stayed tight and don't vibrate when going down the road. The lenses have dulled some but 55 watts aint exactly eyeball searing to start with. I have liked them because they don't reflect "super bright" off of thick foliage/creek banks/hill climbs in the dark and blind ya' the way some of the higher end lights "can", when yer in the thick of it.
I'll probably keep them, they have served me well enough. Again, because they aint super bright. However,,

My pal has me sold on a set of the KC slim mount deals with the 100 watt(130?) watt bulbs. He has a set of 'em,,or something similar,,VERY BRIGHT and great for flat out gettin' it in the wide open spaces, it's almost as if you can't "out run" them the way I can with the set I have now.

 

think about this your average led flash light has between 100 -150 lumens well try these out 1450 lumens x4 and only 127 bucks

Walmart!!!! Cheapest u can go lol. Like $26 for a pair that look kinda cool, that's where I got mine

 

The harbor freight lights have been great for me. I got them for $18 with a coupon from a magazine. For the price you can't really beat them. Super simple to wire and are really bright too at 100 watts. I've been nothing but pleased with them

 

Dont pay the high price for kc. I got blazer brand offroad lights from walmart.com. $15 each, free shipping and theyre 100w and see no difference in these and kc. Can even go to desert rat offroad and get kc covers for $15 a pair and nobody will know the difference

 

the trick is to run the lights on a relay so as to provent damage. then if your worried about over all drain and charging look into the many altinator swaps on here. there are alot of search and rescue vechiles on the sight to.
btw im running two kc in the center of might lights and two $13 nock offs on the out side. centers are 100watts and outers 55watts. they are on relays and double fused only had one issue with them draining my jeep but thats cause my battery termanials were loose.

 

I bet they don't have a no questions asked 23 year warranty

 

3 year warranty. Ill take my chances for $40 including my wiring and switch
